Xythius Alcaronus is a fan site for Petz 3, 4, and 5 run by a single person who prefers to go by the moniker of Night's Shadow (or Thought) in the Petz community/fandom. This site exists for the purposes of showcasing my petz, Petz-related experiments, my attempts to delve into the inner-workings of the game, provide hexing help and information, other helpful Petz=related information, Petz-related creations (primarily hexies), giving people a place to request hexies from me, and for putting many of my creations and experiments up for download so that others may enjoy them.
About Petz 3, 4, and 5

Honestly, I'll be incredibly surprised if someone who doesn't know what the old Petz games are ends up on this site. But, on the off-chance such a person ends up here, I'm going to provide information on the series. Petz 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 are very old virtual pet simulation PC games, dating back all the way to the 90s. While these games have all but been lost to the sands of time, a small community still plays Petz 3, 4, and 5. These games were the precursors to the popular, modern Petz franchise from Ubisoft most people are likely familiar with, and most associate the series name with these modern games. However, the Petz 3-5 community considers these games to be related only in name, as the series after Petz 5 are derivative works of the original games that are incredibly different from the original series. 1-4 were created by P.F Magic. The series was then bought by Ubisoft, and Petz 5 came out shortly after. It is very much like its precursors, but Ubisoft soon scrapped P.F. Magic's style for something completely different- the modern games.
